Rapadura Cane Sugar - Organic, Fairtrade
What Is Rapadura Cane Sugar?
Rapadura Sugar, also known as Panela and Piloncillo, is the only sugar where the sugar stream is not separated from the molasses - which means that the sugar retains many of its essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
The sugar cane is pressed to remove the juice, dehydrated and then ground to produce a grainy sugar.
It has a lovely caramel flavour, fine grain texture and golden colour and can be used in place of white, raw or brown sugar in any recipe.

This lovely mid-brown cane sugar is an excellent upgrade in any recipe that calls for Soft Brown or Light Muscovado sugars. It has a warm scent to it and a real taste of caramel. Its grain size is slightly larger than Muscovado but smaller than Granulated and could be used in any cake recipe that does not specifically request a white refined sugar. Rapadura will give any recipe that uses it a warm caramel taste that you will notice immediately.
