Decaffeinated Breakfast Tea

This is a High Grown tea from Kenya which has been gently decaffeinated to retain its natural flavour. The leaf is made using the ‘Orthodox’ rolling process.

Decaffeinated using Methylene Chloride to 0.2%

How To Brew Decaffeinated Breakfast Tea

For best results, 3-4 mins (but you will work out what is best for you). Drink straight or with milk.

Brew right, this decaf tea is smooth, mellow, natural and almost fruity. It should be light brown in colour.

Tastes lovely but not very stting

Takes a while to brew, more than the 3 mins suggested. I’ve taken to adding a small amount of boiling water to get it brewing then diluting with more water. I like mine quite strong, not quite builders strong, so you will need to play around with it

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Jane. Unfortunately, when caffeine is removed from tea there is an inevitable removal of other parts and this will lead to the tea being ‘weaker’ than a fully caffeinated tea. Apologies our brewing suggestion wasn't to your taste. Everyone makes tea ‘the way they like it’ (which is why many tea drinkers ask for coffee when they are not in charge of the brew!) but it sounds like you got there in the end. Personally, I use less tea and brew for 6 mins!
